Abel Gance et son Napoléon

With the help of rare and previously unpublished documents, Nelly Kaplan, who was Abel Gance’s young assistant, revisits the filmmaker’s career in the 1920s. The film focuses in particular on the monumental silent masterpiece “Napoléon”, shot in 1927 and restored for screening in the early 80s.
