Part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, “Vive le Fringe!” Festival is an unmissable and climactic rendez-vous of our seasonal programming, a great platform given to francophone and francophile companies. Bringing up on stage some theatre, music and dance, our musical programme celebrates the significance of cross-cultural exchanges between France and Scotland. All the shows are presented in English or in French with English subtitles.

Since 2011, the Institut français d’Ecosse has curated “Vive le Fringe!” Festival, a performing arts programme that coincides with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It aims to showcase the best of Franco-Scottish theatre, music, dance, and performance art. Since August 2018, “Vive le Fringe!” Festival has taken place at our new premises at the top of the Royal Mile, the epicentre of the Edinburgh Fringe and the city itself. In terms of visibility and centrality, it is an ideal location to  attract audiences.

For the edition 2025, we are looking for three companies which would be able to stay for at least three weeks of the Festival, including one show for children and families. To apply, please fill out the form attached below and make sure to review the two additional documents linked with it by Friday the 17th of January 2025 midnight.
