Les Elles des jeux

1 June - 16 Aug

Excluded from the Olympic movement during its rebirth at the end of the 19th century, sportswomen took decades to acquire their rightful place in sport and particularly in the Olympic movement.

From pioneers like Alice Milliat, creator of the Women’s World Games in 1922, to great athletes such as Christine Caron, Marie-José Pérec, Laure Manaudou, Clarisse Agbegnenou and Simone Biles, the exhibition shows the spectacular path traveled from near exclusion to struggle for parity.

The exhibition “Les Elles des Jeux” was produced by the Musée National du Sport in Nice.
