The Ensemble Sésame plays Ravel and Debussy

Thu 6 March in Glasgow - Fri 7 March in Edinburgh at 7pm

It was in 2013, after a project initiated by Udo Reinemann around Schubert and the voice, that was created the Ensemble Sésame, intended to promote chamber music in all its forms, through concerts, interdisciplinary projects, educational initiatives and regular work with contemporary composers.

The musicians of Ensemble Sésame have recorded Bartók’s duos for NoMadPlay and, more recently, the complete instrumental chamber music of Maurice Ravel for NoMadMusic, a triple CD which has met with immense success in the French and international press (Choc de Classica, 5étoiles Melómano Digital, 5 Diapasons…).

Naaman Sluchin (violin), Maitane Sebastián (cello) and Julien Le Pape (piano) from the Ensemble Sesame will honor us with a concert at the Institut français d’Écosse in Edinburgh. Let yourself be transported by their musical programme of compositions by Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy!

This event is organized as part of the Mois de la Francophonie 2025

Naaman Sluchin started playing the violin at the age of 6 and hasn't stopped since! If chamber music is his favorite field of play, Naaman knows how to vary the pleasures, being also concertmaster of the orchestra of the Rouen Normandy Opera and professor at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

Concert cellist and teacher, Maitane Sebastián received advice from Gary Hoffman, Christophe Roy and Michel Sendrez, in addition to composing and conducting. She has mainly explored chamber music and solo repertoire on the European scene for 20 years, and regularly publishes recordings praised by specialist critics.

Winner of four CNSMDP prizes, trained with masters such as Gérard Frémy, Isabelle Duha, Jean-Claude Raynaud, Julien Le Pape divides his activity between teaching at the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt, concerts as a chamber musician (Ensemble Sésame) or member of a contemporary music ensemble (Ensemble tm+).
